blogic: BREAKING - Rightwing Alan Keyes' Daughter A Lesbian?

Modern Vertebrate has discovered a blog that appears to be written by Alan Keyes' daughter, Maya Keyes, who also appears to be a lesbian. I stopped by the blog and was astounded. And then I did a little more checking and now I'm just floored.

How crazy is that? Rabidly conservative Illinois Senate Candidate and talk show host Alan Keyes not only has a lesbian daughter, but in at least one photo she's sporting a "Bush, You're Fired!" button. Nice.

For those keeping tabs, Keyes made a splash last month when he pronounced that Cheney's lesbian daughter was a 'selfish hedonist'.

I've changed the Chillinois (what a great blog name) link to point to the blog page, not the specific post, since Chillinois has now posted a number of informative entries on the topic.

Here's what Daily Kos had to say on the matter:

But really, neither I, nor other blogs, have "outed" Maya. She's out. She brags about wearing her rainbow bracelet on the campaign trail. Her father must either be blind or clueless not to know his daughter's sexual preferences. Pointing out that the adult daughter of a politician, who is campaigning with that politician is gay isn't a slur.

Wo why is Keyes so quick to attack the children of others? Why is he so virulently anti-homosexual? Why does it seem that every high-profile anti-gay figure has a gay child?

From reading her blog, it seems like Maya is out and proud. Good for her. The question is, what kind of person is her father, to so hatefully oppose something that's so innately part of Maya?

Probably a hoax, and not too difficult at that. Even if it isn't who gives a shit? Find an issue instead man... Good lord like we don't have enough retarded attacks on people this political season?
