Breaking Political Stories and Commentary. "We're at the height of the Roman Empire for the Republican Party, but the tide slowly but surely goes out." --Republican US Senator Lindsey Graham, South Carolina
I'm just speculating here, but there are signs of a Democratic tide that hasn't gotten much coverage in the news.

Democratic Senate candidates are polling surprisingly well. Months ago, the conventional wisdom was that Republicans might pick up to five seats in the Senate. It now appears that Democrats will at least hold their current number of seats, and might even add a few to their number. A year ago, I would have laughed in your face if you had told me the Democrats might take control of the Senate. Today, it's a possibility.

Add that to swing state reports that Democratic registration of new voters is far exceeding Republican efforts, and I have to wonder if we're glimpsing parts of a larger pattern. As we move into the final month before election day, voters are gravitating to Democratic candidates.

I would say more of third party tide rising (more Libertarian than most), people are tired with both Major Parties period, myself included, Gideon as well, former navy submariner in my philosophy class, and others. We are all tired of the 'pro' politicians and parties; I myself want them completely out of power until they return to their roots.

Did you know there was only a 2% difference between the Rep Federal Budget and Dem Federal Budget, the guy in Philosophy class pointed this out, there is little difference between the 'moose shit' and 'elk shit' (as Gideon puts it) anymore.

If there truly is a rising Democratic tide than once again the American Public has bought into the lies that only two parties can exist in the U.S.

I think the actual election will shock some conservatives. Democrats are mobilized for this election. Last year's student democrats at CMSU numbered twelve out of a campus population of a few thousand. This year there are over sixty that are consistently showing to every meeting. These people are volunteering for canvassing, voter drives, phonebanking, etc. etc. . The Democratic headquarters here in town is also lit up by volunteers till six officially, but as late as eight or nine with the droves of people wanting to help out every night every day.
