Breaking Political Stories and Commentary. "We're at the height of the Roman Empire for the Republican Party, but the tide slowly but surely goes out." --Republican US Senator Lindsey Graham, South Carolina
I think Cheney and Edwards both did fine. Certainly, Cheney did not exhibit the same meltdown we remember from Bush last week. From the perspective of the overall election, my guess is that the Kerry campaign people have to be happy -- nothing that happened tonight will kill the momentum from last week's debate. Tomorrow, we'll hear that there were no knock out punches, and that America will have to wait until Friday's debate for any possible changes in this election. I think the Bush campaign must also be comfortable with tonight's result: Dick came across as calm and knowledgeable.

Ironically, I wonder if voters on both sides have been left wishing they could vote for Cheney or Edwards to be president.

Well, it was a lot more entertaining than thursday night, and the repubs definately made out a little better. But Dick "go f**k yourself" Cheney sounded like a broken record for the last hour. Especially on Haliburton, the economy, and healthcare.
